Issue
Healthcare as a business risk
Healthcare worries become a business risk. When an employee posted abroad falls ill and doesn't know where to go, the problem doesn't stay with that one person. Illnesses get worse because people hesitate to seek care, family members' health problems make it hard to focus on work, and people turn down postings. Healthcare concerns directly affect productivity and staff retention.
Delayed care
Unfamiliar language and systems make people hesitate to see a doctor. Problems that could have been treated early become serious and lead to time off work.
Family members' health
Sometimes it isn't the employee but a spouse or child whose health makes it hard to concentrate on work for long periods.
Declined postings
Concerns about healthcare can make people hesitate to accept an overseas posting at all, which affects recruitment.
Decisions in an emergency
When a serious illness or accident occurs, a response is delayed if there is no plan for what to do locally.
Cotovia works with companies to build a system that addresses these concerns in Japanese. Employees' peace of mind gives companies the strength to sustain their overseas business.
Coverage
Not just for employees
Cotovia's corporate services also cover families. Spouses and children can use them in the same way as employees.
Online consultations
See a doctor in Japanese from home.
In-person care
See a doctor in person at our clinics or partner hospitals.
LINE support
Ask us in Japanese, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Health check-ups
Check-ups before and after postings, and regular check-ups.
You can keep using the same Cotovia even if you're posted to a different country. We have locations in 5 countries and regions.

Health check-ups and preventive care
We offer check-up content and vaccination programs tailored to your company's needs, including check-ups before and after postings.
Mental health support
We help with the stress and anxiety of life abroad in Japanese, including online counseling and emergency response.
Coordination of medical transport
If a serious illness or injury occurs, we help arrange and coordinate medical transport, and support decisions about where to transfer the patient and who should accompany them.
Support for building a healthcare system
We support everything from building relationships with local medical facilities to setting up your in-house healthcare system. Please also contact us if you are opening a new office.
Fees vary depending on the size of your company, the number of offices and the services you need. Please start by telling us about your situation.
For business owners and HR managers
Corporate benefits
We give your employees and their families access to healthcare in Japanese with peace of mind. Online consultations, in-person care and Cotovia Counter are available on preferential terms for companies.
- Healthcare support for employees and families (in Japanese, with a medical interpreter)
- LINE consultations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- The same support continues even when employees move to a new posting
When posted abroad, employees have to find a medical facility themselves, explain their situation at a reception desk where they may not be understood, and check on their own whether their insurance applies. Our corporate plans take this burden away.
No need to search for where to go
When employees send their symptoms on LINE, we recommend the right option: online consultation, in-person care or Cotovia Counter. They don't have to research it themselves.
No language barriers
A Japanese medical interpreter joins the doctor's consultation. For general hospital visits, Cotovia Counter accompanies the patient and interprets.
Continues even when postings change
With locations in 5 countries and regions, there's no need to find healthcare from scratch with every transfer. The same support simply continues.
The same terms for families
Spouses and children are also covered. Family members can also ask about medical visits on LINE.
For companies considering health check-ups
Health check-ups
We provide health checkups before and after postings, as well as regular checkups. We can also discuss the results in Japanese.
- Health checkups before and after postings
- Regular checkups and optional tests
- Advice on follow-up care and lifestyle based on results
Abroad, check-up items and procedures differ from Japan, and people are sometimes handed results with numbers they don't understand. We explain the results in Japanese.
Check-ups before and after postings
We provide check-ups required before travel and check-ups after arrival.
Regular check-ups
Annual check-ups are available in Japanese, and can be taken at the same location every year.
Explanation of results
We explain in Japanese what the numbers mean, whether further care is needed, and what to watch out for in daily life.
Referral when care is needed
If check-up results show that care is needed, we connect employees directly to in-person care or a specialist referral.
For companies considering vaccinations
On-site check-ups and vaccinations
We also provide checkups and vaccinations at your office, so many employees can be seen at once.
- On-site checkups and vaccinations at your office
- Group vaccinations, such as flu shots
- Help with scheduling and running the day
When employees visit a clinic one by one, work time is lost. By visiting your office and doing everything at once, we minimize the impact on work.
At your office
We carry out check-ups and vaccinations at your office, so employees don't need to travel.
Group vaccinations
Vaccinations such as flu shots can be given to groups at once.
Scheduling and on-the-day operations
We help with everything from scheduling the date to reception and record-keeping on the day.
For those who couldn't attend
Anyone who couldn't make it on the day will be guided to visit a clinic.

FAQ
FAQ
Questions we're often asked by companies considering our services.
QWhat is the minimum number of employees?
There is no minimum. We work with companies ranging from a few expatriates to multiple offices across countries. Please start by telling us the countries and the number of employees posted.
QHow much does it cost?
It depends on the size of your company, the number of offices and the combination of services you want. We'll make a proposal after hearing from you, so you don't need to decide anything at this stage.
QAre employees' families covered?
Yes. Spouses and children are covered too; it's not just for employees. Family members can also ask about medical visits on LINE.
QWhat if we have expatriates in countries where you have no locations?
We currently have locations in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong. For other countries, we'll discuss with you and explain what we can offer. In some cases, only online consultations may be possible.
QWe already use another insurer or medical service
You can use both. Cotovia mainly guides employees to the right care and accompanies them in Japanese, so it works alongside your existing insurance. Whether cashless service applies depends on the insurer, so please tell us about your policy.
QHow long does it take to get started?
It depends on our discussion and the proposal. If you're in a hurry, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
